Volleyball Party
The Ripley's annual party was held in June. It's amazing to see how much the kids grow every year. This year less supervision of my children was required and I also had Erin who was more than happy to keep an eye on Derek. Owen had a light sabre fight with Mitchell and said he had good skills for a little kid. Mitchell's been asking for a light sabre for his birthday ever since.
No Fear
This year we thought we'd check out our local fair. It certainly wasn't the way I remember it from back in the day. There were hardly any rides for the kids and even those were crazily priced if we all wanted to go on - for example $16 to ride the bumper cars - therefore no bumper cars. The only thing that made the trip worth the admission price was the reptile display and petting zoo. Derek had no fear, getting up close and personal with the snakes, and holding a tarantula. Mitchell was in there too but with a little trepidation.
Going back in time
Here are some pics from Chuck E. Cheese's. During the school year Mitchell started getting check marks if he had a good day, and this was the reward he chose for getting a full sticker chart. We had some stretches with a lot of check marks in a row and a lot of stretches the other way too. When asked why he didn't get a check mark one day - he said he was bad funny - like calling a kid Cole when that wasn't his name.
