Bug Invasion

Last week we met Danielle, Jocelynn and Alex at the library for a presentation from the "Bug Man". He was a very soft spoken, monotone speaker and at the beginning was just showing case after case of pinned insects. Not very captivating for a large crowd of children. The teacher in me was itching to get the children to quiet down. However, he then pulled out the live specimens and things got a bit more interesting. Mitchell loved it and even held a Madagascar Hissing Cockroach at the end.

Kids at Heart

So I've covered the little guys fun at Cedar Point, but the big kids had just as much fun. Jillian started out with a scary ride on the tilta-whirl (notice the grimace on her face in the pic) but graduated to riding the Magnum before we left.

Scott went for a ride on the SkyHawk (the world's largest swing) and the Raptor. Mom liked all the water rides and slides. Here we are soaked from the log ride.

I went on the Top Thrill Dragster - that's me on that hill!!!!

And Steven did all of the above.

The worst part of the trip was the hour long traffic jam on I-75. Thank god for portable DVD players.

Cedar Point Part 2

Derek's favourite part of the entire trip was anytime he was eating. He particularly enjoyed eating "kicup" at McDonald's, the warm pretzel "Nina" bought, and Uncle Steven's kettle corn (which he is tasting in this pic).

Derek did get to go on a few rides, like the train, the car with Aunt Jill and the carosel with Nana.

He must have got wore out because he had no trouble sleeping in the playpen at the hotel.

Cedar Point Part 1

We got back last night from our 2 day Cedar Point trip. It was a good time. The kids were having fun and well-behaved for the most part (the kids reference also applies to Jillian, Steven and Scott). Mitchell started off his trip on the swings ...

and gave it the "thumbs up".

He also enjoyed the bumper cars, helicopter, cars...

and hamming up for the camera.

Derek's favs to follow.
