Pinky Square

Mitchell asked me to "Pinky Square" him today and we hooked our little fingers together. I asked him what a pinky square was and he said "it's one with a pink up".

I'd have taken a picture, but the battery's out. Should have also got a shot of him in his wacky clothes day outfit - blue plaid pants, orange plaid shirt, red christmas socks and a red t-shirt with "giant surf" on it. Scott said he looked like he did have the wackiest ensemble!

Mother's Day Melt Down

I had a lovely Mother's Day weekend. On Saturday, we had Scott's family over for the afternoon and dinner. It still sounds like Derek is calling Nancy "Nina", Mitchell was glued to Steven, and the kids got to play a fun movie picture game. On Sunday, we went to my Mom's. That was great too - until it was time to leave. Mitchell threw the biggest temper tantrum ever which lasted until well after we were home. I guess he was having too much fun to leave the party.

This is the best picture I could get of me and the boys. As Steph said, "They're both looking at the camera." Unfortunately Derek looks stoned, Mitchell's cheek is smeared with Smarty Treatza Pizza and he is also giving the firebird unnecessary prominance in my Mother's Day picture. Oh well, better luck next year.

Amazingly, the picture of Grandma and her great-grandchildren turned out quite well and it was fairly painless to gather all the young ones together.

This is how Mitchell spent the afternoon - chasing "those girls" (shrieking girls, I might add) around the backyard. He is there, a blur behind Hannah.

Filter Free

It's not so much fun to take Mitchell grocery shopping anymore, as he lacks some of the social skills that we acquire as we grow older. The last time I took him to the super store he was loudly asking my about this very petite woman by saying "Why is she so small? Why is that lady so small?" about a hundred times all within her hearing range. Not really knowing how to address this issue, that being the first time he's been politically incorrect, I just decided to quickly walk through the cracker product aisle and get them some other time.

Today Mitchell delightfully asked "What is that man's name?" with regard to the LADY who kindly returned his bouncy ball to him.
